Pacific Whale Foundation’s Keiki E.C.O. Day

Offers Outdoor Learning Opportunities for Maui Children

keiki E.C.O. dayOn February 15, Pacific Whale Foundation will kickoff its 4th Annual Keiki E.C.O. (Educating Children Outdoors) Day conference for Maui schoolchildren. “This year we will be expanding the conference from 250 students to about 325 children, with about 14 community partners leading workshops that model ways to use nature as your classroom,” says Karen Molina, Youth Education Manager at Pacific Whale Foundation. “We will kick the event off with our keynote speaker, followed by two workshops that wind up a powerful conservation message for Maui’s youth. Workshops are followed by a waste-free lunch contest and then we will rock out of Kalama Park with the “Banana Slug String Band”, Molina says. ”We here at Pacific Whale Foundation love informing and inspiring students and teachers when it comes to ocean advocacy”.
