The Summer Enrichment Program begins in early June and is open to approximately 70 youth ages 9-13. The program uses a variety of teaching methods such as classroom instruction, hand-on activities, group activities, games, song, and hula. The Kamali’i Program is funded by grants from the County of Maui and by Hawaiian Canoe Club fundraising activities.

In an atmosphere of respect and aloha Lae`ula O Kai provides structured training for youth ages 11 to 19 in outrigger paddling. Other activities may include; cultural activities and excursions, participation in Community Work Day (taking care of our environment) and ocean activities such as stand-up paddling, OC-1, OC-2 paddling, surfing and swimming. Youth younger than 11 are also welcome to participate and should know how to swim. Most training is scheduled by age group however, many other activities are scheduled for the entire group. Parents and other family members are encouraged and welcome to participate with us.
