Seabury Hall’s Shelby Ferrier takes home an iPad from Maui Mall
iPod also awarded to Maui Waena sixth-grader

Maui Mall recently awarded Shelby Ferrier, a seventh-grader at Seabury Hall, an iPad as part of its recent Maui Mall Family Sunday event. In addition, Kaitlyn Takeno, who just started sixth grade at Maui Waena Intermediate School was awarded an iPod Touch.

A “sponge when it comes to learning,” teachers Marsha Kelly and Steve Vurno also nominated Ferrier because of her talents in performing arts and math team. She also read a poem she wrote onstage.

Takeno was nominated by her fifth grade teacher at Pomaikai Elementary School. Teacher Gina Malizia said Takeno is a quality producer in all content areas and her work reflects thoughtfulness and critical thinking. Last year she was student council secretary and volunteered to help plan events.

Teachers are encouraged to nominate their students for this monthly iPad and iPod drawing, through November. The next Family Sundays and iPad and iPod giveaway event on August 26 will highlight Health, Safety & Nutrition. The deadline to submit nomination forms for this event is August 13.

Nomination forms and more information can be found on the Family Sundays link at www.MauiMall.com.
