Run and Walk For the Whales

Runners and walkers, adults and kids, residents and visitors are invited to take part in this popular race — one of Maui’s largest fun runs and walking events. The Run and Walk for the Whales course includes ocean views — you might even see a whaleor two breaching in the distance! Choose from the 5K walking event, 5K running race, 10K walking event, 10K running race, half marathon walking event and half marathon running race. There’s also a 2K running race for kids. Starting line and post-run festivities will take place at the Makena Beach and Golf Resort, South Maui.two_runners

This event includes professional chip timing for runners in the 5K, 10K and half marathon, plus clock timing for all walking events and the 2K Keiki race. Entry fee for adults includes a “2013 Run and Walk for the Whales” quick dry t-shirt plus post-race breakfast. Children ages 12 and under participating in the 2K Keiki Race will receive a “Run and Walk for the Whales”  t-shirt plus post-race breakfast. Water and aid stations and musical entertainment located along course.

Free pairs of whalewatch tickets, medals and lei will be awarded to the top three male and top three female overall finishers in the 5K, 10K and Half Marathon. The top age group male and female winners in each of the three distances will each win a pair of whalewatch tickets. All walkers will be entered into a drawing for free whalewatch tickets. Children in the 2K children’s race will also be entered into a drawing to win whale-themed toys, books, videos and games. The top boy and girl finishers will also receive medals.

All runners and walkers will also receive a coupon for a 25% discount on any PacificWhale Foundation whalewatch.
