Pacific Whale Foundation’s Ocean Camp

Features Kid-Friendly Ocean-Themed Adventures

Pacific Whale Foundation’s Ocean Camp is one of the most popular and longest-running day camp programs on Maui. Now in its 12th year, the camp makes each day magical with a unique mix of kid-approved ocean-themed activities, led by friendly and enthusiastic professional marine educators. Each week brings opportunities to explore tidepools, visit Maui Ocean Center, take a surfing or windsurfing lesson, enjoy arts and crafts, play at the beach, snorkel at Molokini, learn new games and try out hands-on science projects.

Ocean Camp is for children entering grades K through 5. For the entire summer, the camp takes over Pacific Whale Foundation’s Discovery Center, a spacious, air-conditioned facility that overlooks Ma’alaea Harbor. The Discovery Center is stocked with kid-sized science equipment, craft materials, games, books and state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment. Campers travel to field trips in air-conditioned camp vans. Throughout the day, there’s a 1 to 10 ratio of educators to kids, so everyone gets lots of quality attention. All of the camp staff are over 21 and are college educated. Staff with lifeguard certification supervise all field trips around the water.

The camp is arranged so that you can enroll your child for single or multiple days. It is offered Mondays through Fridays (with the exception of Monday, July 4), from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The first day of camp is May 31. The program is offered through July 29.

Register early (30 days or more in advance) and the daily fee is $67 per day. Pacific Whale Foundation Members pay just $56.

If you register within 30 days of camp, the price is $72 per day or $61 for Pacific Whale Foundation Members. Registering late (24 hours prior to camp) is $77 per day or $66 for Pacific Whale Foundation Members.
