“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ʻĀina i ka Pono

Our homeschool community learning alliance is founded upon a mentoring model of holistic education. We offer an educational approach wherein close relationship, creatively inspired learning and somatic, experiential inquiry are the fundamental motivating and successful principles for personal and community skill building and healthy interaction between children and adults.  Our programming maintains a weekly focus of reading, writing, math, movement and art with wilderness skills, nature awareness, social skill building, ecological outreach and cultural integration at its core.

We offer Thematic Pedagogy through an educational template which is ‘Somatically’ based (inquiry based learning which engages the entire Ecology of the Human Being: psyche and soma, intellect, imagination, feelings, senses, emotions, will and intuition in innate connection with all of creation), offering the children consistent opportunities to fully engage their learning via embodied exploration. Through mentoring and low teacher/ student ratio supported by a richly creative, dynamic and fluid curriculum, we strive to assist each child in recognizing and developing their own innate, unique gifts as how they relate to the whole, while discovering how to healthfully share them with their community and beyond.

We bring our keiki out onto the land to foster deep relationship with Nature as Primary Mentor, cultivating and supporting strong, lasting relationship and connection to place.  We venture into the wilds to immerse them in their educational experiences while building earth -centered community connection, growing and harvesting food through the seasons, implementing land and ocean restoration, reforestation and preservation of native ecologies.
