Live Theatre at MAPA this Summer!

Live theatre is blossoming this summer at Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA). With three major musical productions, there’s something for everyone!

Disney’s The Aristocrats Kids runs June 23-26 at Steppingstone Playhouse in Queen Ka’ahumanu Center. Performed by 40 young actors from MAPA’s Youth Musical Theatre Camp, the show features adorable characters, fabulous costumes and jazzy show tunes.

Honk, Jr., performed by MAPA’s Teen Musical Theatre Camp students, runs July 15-24 at Steppingstone Playhouse. A modernized musical re-telling of The Ugly Duckling, the play is a poignant exploration of prejudice, tolerance and sibling rivalry.

Damn Yankees, running August 5-21, features some of Maui’s finest actors in one of the island’s favorite summer traditions – outdoor theatre at Maui Tropical Plantation. Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and bring the whole family to this unique and memorable theatrical event.
