Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui’s Little Chef Big Chef presented by HMSA gala is being held on Friday, November 15, 2019. Now in its fifth year, all funds raised remain on Maui to serve our local youth.
More than a fundraiser, Little Chef Big Chef is a culinary arts program that features seven teams of ten club members paired with Maui’s top chefs to create signature pupus for event guests.
For several weeks, the youth and their “big chef” mentors meet for culinary lessons at the Clubs and at the restaurant where each chef works, giving our aspiring young chefs a real taste of what it takes to be a professional chef. In addition, ingredients are locally sourced providing youth an opportunity to visit Maui’s farms to learn about and gain a deeper appreciation of the food they are cooking and the aina on which they live.
