Q: How should I dress?
A: You don’t need bike clothes to enjoy your day here, but comfortable shorts and clothes that will keep you cool and protected from the sun are recommended. Helmets and closed-toe shoes are required. Sunglasses are recommended. Please be advised that your clothes may get dirty with the famous Maui red dirt, so avoid white clothing.

Q: How long does it take?
A: It varies depending on ability, fitness and interests. Most folks like to spend 3-4 hours here enjoying the park. A fit, experienced rider could navigate all the trails in as little as an hour.

Q: Do I have to be an expert biker or super fit to ride at the park?
A: No, but you should be comfortable riding a bicycle off-road, and have a decent level of fitness. Although our uphill trails are designed to be as gentle as possible, please be aware that the park spans 200 ft (61 m) of vertical elevation, and “what goes down must climb up”. Getting back to the top of the park is part of the experience.

Q: What are “flow trails”?
A: Flow trails are man-made, smooth, rolling trails. Neither too steep nor dangerous, flow trails are predominantly downhill and incorporate banked turns and undulations to give the rider a roller-coaster-like experience.

Q: Can I bring my own bike or one I rented somewhere else?
A: Absolutely, though we do require bikes to be in good working order and you must wear a helmet when riding.

Q: Can I take your rental bikes outside the park?
A: At this time no. Our bikes must stay inside the park property.

Q: Do you offer Kama’aina rates?
A: We offer affordable annual passes for locals who want to come regularly.

Q: Do you allow dogs?
A: No.  For safety reasons, dogs are not allowed under any circumstances, including the parking area.  Please leave your dog at home.

Q: What type of pedals do the bikes have?
A: Our bikes are equipped with ordinary flat pedals, but we have a variety of clip-in pedals on hand if you prefer.

Q: What’s UliUli Farms?
A:  In Hawaiian, uliuli (pronounced “ooly-ooly”) means dark blue, like the color of the deep ocean. (This word differs from the similar-sounding `uli`uli which is the Hawaiian feathered rattle used in hula.)  Uli Uli Farms is the 80+ acre property that the bike park navigates through.  It is home to two separate farming operations, including a growing tequila agave (Weber Blue) farm.  Soon, the farm stand at the bike park will feature fruits and vegetables from these farms.
