The world of books is now more accessible than ever, thanks to the partnership between the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Maui Family Support Services, and The County of Maui. As of December 2023, every child in Maui County has the opportunity to embark on a literary journey from their early years, fostering a love for reading that will last a lifetime.
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library, founded by the legendary country singer Dolly Parton, is renowned for its mission to inspire a love for books among young children. Through this innovative program, children from ages 0-5 receive a carefully curated book each month, free of charge, directly to their doorstep. The initiative aims to not only provide access to literature but to also encourage families to engage in the joy of reading together.
Families across the island can enroll their little ones in the program, ensuring that the wonders of storytelling are woven into the fabric of their early development. The program’s expansion to Maui reflects a shared commitment to nurturing the intellectual and emotional well-being of every child.
