WebIMG_3571Na Keiki o Emalia is a new Maui program for grieving children, teens and their families. Trained volunteers will facilitate free peer support groups which are not therapy groups, but rather, an opportunity to talk and form friendships with peers who share the experience of loss. Parents or adult guardians will meet at the same time, but in their own 90-minute group.

Groups are the most effective way for children and teens to process their grief and regain a sense of wellbeing. Activities such as play, crafts and games will be available. Groups for Littles (3-5 yrs.) meet twice a month in the afternoon; other groups meet at 6:00 p.m. during the week. All groups meet in Central Maui (either at Queen Lili’uokalani Children’s Center, or Hospice Maui). For information, please contact Dr. Brooke Brown at 808-214-9832 or [email protected]. An application and interview must be completed before joining a group.
