The Maui Historical Society is excited to announce its September Moonlight Mele concert with George Kahumoku, Jr. & Friends on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm at the historic Bailey House Museum in Wailuku Town. This concert celebrates the CD release of the Kickstarter-funded album that was recorded live at the museum. There will be food, beer, wine, and awa as well as a keiki center and free museum tours. Admission is only $5, with children under 12 and museum members free.

“We want to support local musicians and provide authentic, safe, and comfortable family entertainment for our Maui community,” says Executive Director Mrs. Sissy Lake-Farm. “Uncle

George provides great support and encouragement to up-and-coming local musicians, especially those at the college.” Mr. Kahumoku, with local musicians Ed Gazbat, Tom Pollard, Eric Dotterer, and Joel Katz, will play music along with students from the UHMC Institute of Hawaiian Music.

Moonlight Mele with George Kahumoku and Friends is a monthly outdoor concert series at the Bailey House Museum, sponsored by the Maui Historical Society and the Hawaii Tourism Authority. The series aims to be a vehicle to promote Hawaiian cultural practices and reinvigorate community ownership of Wailuku Town.
