Kahului Baptist Preschool began in 1946 as a ministry of Kahului Baptist Church. We are licensed by the State of Hawaii’s Department of Social Services and have been approved by the County of Maui’s Health, Fire and Building Departments.
We are Accredited by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). Accreditation means that we meet State and National standards and that we ensure the highest quality of care for your child.
Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:45am – 5:15pm.
Our holiday schedule basically follows that of the public schools.
We accept students funded by Preschool Open Doors, Department of Human Services, Childcare Connection, Good Beginnings, and Pauahi Keiki Scholars (Kamehameha Schools).
The program employs a total of 12 teaching staff.
All staff are born-again Christians and feel it is their ministry to love, care and nurture your child in these very formative years. All teaching staff have professional training and experience in Early Childhood Education.
Extra Curricular Activities we offer are Gymagery, Computer and Hula. Language classes coming soon!! Come by the school and experience the fun for yourself.
A $125 Excursion fee provides all costs (except lunch) for our monthly excursions. We have been blessed to go to places such as Maui Ocean Center, Reef Walk, Sugar Cane Train, Surfing Goat Dairy, Boo-Boo Zoo, Fire Station, Maui Soda and Ice, Bird Sanctuary at Kanaha, The Animal Shelter and the list goes on!
Although lunch is not included in our tuition, we do offer a hot lunch program you can purchase if you like. Mon., Tues., Wed. & Friday we get hot lunch form Pizza in Paradise. Every Thursday pizza day!
Enrollment Procedures
* All children must be at least 2 years 8 months old at time of enrollment and potty trained.
* Fill out a Waitlist Application
* When a space is available, a parent from the Wait List will be contacted and given two (2) school days to secure the spot with a non-refundable $180 registration fee.
* Before your child’s start date you will need to bring in a copy of a negative TB test (done within one year), a copy of his/her Birth Certificate, Heath Form 14 including a current physical (or a least a doctor appointment for one) and fill out necessary application and paper work. Department of Health will not allow us to admit any child who does not have a current TB test.

Parents of registered KBPS students will be informed of a Parent Orientation to be held before school begins. All new parents of registered KBPS students are required to attend this event. The Parent Orientation is designed to cover the KBPS parent handbook, answer questions, tour their child’s classroom, as well as meet their child’s teachers.
