2015 Keiki Fest-184The annual Valley Isle Keiki Fest provides children and their families in our community free fun activities while offering products and food at a low cost. This family oriented event is held at the Great Lawn of the University of Hawaii-Maui College. This event promotes a positive, safe and healthy environment for Hawaii’s Keiki.

Keiki Fest features activities for all ages. In addition to the usual ono food and great entertainment, conjoined organizations have arranged cooking demonstrations by 4-H, resources for parents, vendors, and even a car show. However, there is much more in store for the keiki – jumping castles, games, prizes, a bike safety course, a bike giveaway, and the much loved shave ice stand.

2015 Keiki Fest-395Because of generous supporters, vendor fees, donations and funds generated from the food court, admission to the Keiki Fest is FREE. The event begins at 11 a.m. and runs to 4 p.m.

April is classified as “The Month of the Young Child,” bringing families together globally. Maui’s ‘ohana has been celebrating the festival since 2004. The event attracts over 6,000, about half of which are children.

Hawaii continues to be one of the most ideal places to raise a child, thanks to various organizations island-wide, who provide great opportunities, such as the Keiki Fest, to enhance the well-being of Maui’s youth. The Kiwanis Club of the Valley Isle, Maui 4-H Organization, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui and the County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation have all associated efforts in the Keiki Fest celebration.

Keiki Fest brings the community and families together and gives residents the great opportunity to celebrate youth. Attend as a parent, a child, a supporter, or just unleash your inner child for a day of fun for a good cause.
