Basketball Maui presents special charity hoop games
Maui basketball fans are in for a real treat on Saturday, June 4th as Basketball Maui presents two special charity hoop games at War Memorial Auditorium. The event known as ‘A night of shooting stars’ will get underway at 5:00 PM with pre-game activities followed by a 6:00 PM tip-off of a novelty warm-up game between a team of Celebrity all-stars (comprised of movie, music, media personalities, community leaders, and athletes from others sports) and their opponents, the Camp all-stars (selected from the Basketball Maui Summer Camp). The feature contest will jump ball at 7:00 PM and will showcase two Pro-AM all-star teams of top N-B-A, College, and International players. “Our goal is to bring the community together, present an evening of pure family fun, and ultimately generate support for our growing programs” says Basketball Maui director Ben Prangnell. Besides the games, organizers are working hard to develop pre-game, half-time, and post game entertainment that includes live music, performers, special guests, interactive games for kids, and local food vendors. “It is going to be a night that you won’t want to miss” promises Prangnell.

Proceeds from the evening will support Maui Basketball, a non-profit organization dedicated to the character and basketball fundamentals development of the young people of Maui through the game of basketball. The organization’s mission is to provide youth the opportunity to prepare for success both on and off the court.
Admission is $5.00 for all fans over seven years of age and no-charge for those 7 and under. Advance tickets will go on sale May 1st at various still to be determined locations.
They will also be available at the gate on event night.
