World Oceans Day: “Together We Can”

The 25th annual surf competition is for keiki 5–12 years old. There will be age groups for boys and girls in shortboard, longboard, bodyboard, and stand-up paddling. It’s free, and entry forms will be available at Hi-Tech Surf Sports.

Huliau Youth Film Showing

We are excited to announce a second free showing at the Maui Brewing Company in Kihei on World Ocean’s Day! If you missed our first showing, come enjoy 10 short environmental films created by our filmmaking students this year, including new films from Hāna and Molokaʻi! This is a free showing and open to all ages. Food and beverages are available for purchase from the tasting room, or you can eat in the restaurant before the films begin.

The tasting room is normally 21 & over after 8pm, however they will be making an exception for the night of our film showing. This event follows Pacific Whale Foundation’s “Party for the Ocean” from 4-7 at Maui Brewing Company. Check out their World Oceans Day Facebook event for more details.

World Oceans Day Event at Maui Ocean Center

Maui Ocean Center invites the public to celebrate Hawaii’s marine life with family fun at the Aquarium on Saturday, June 8, 2019. The World Oceans Day event will feature a beach-to-reef cleanup, keiki activities, marine presentations, and live entertainment with headlining artist Marty Dread.
