Observe and Play Family Day

Join the staff at the Schaefer Gallery for a free, fun family morning. Families are invited to view the exhibit together, watch portrait demonstrations by professional artists, and make a piece of art to take home. For entry into the gallery masks are required and all visitors age 5 and up must be vaccinated.

Included activities are:
– Face painting by Melissa Rainbow Chameleon
– Art-making activity stations outside the gallery, where visitors can draw a portrait, sculpt a face, or decorate a mask.
– Six artists from this year’s Schaefer Portrait Challenge demonstrating their artistic processes.  Participating artists scheduled to participate include Alika Bustillos, Sachelle Dae, Thomas James, Kirk Kurokawa, Lisa Louie, and Nancy Skrimstad.
  • Saturday, February 26 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Maui Arts & Culural Center. Schaefer Gallery, Kahului

This two-week fundraiser benefits Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center and its many arts education programs through:
-An online silent auction with a variety of local products, gift certificates, artwork, unique experiences, and more!
-A gallery showcase (in person at the Hui!) featuring artwork by over 50 local artists.
-An online giving opportunity to “Raise the Paddle” virtually for arts education!
