The ultimate in comfort food can be found in this tiny little A-frame in the industrial area of Kahului. I literally lived on their miso ramen during my first pregnancy when I couldn’t stomach anything else.

Star Noodle — 1285 Front Street, Lahaina
Be sure to make a reservation at their new oceanfront location and devour some house-made noodles. Lahaina Fried Soup is one of our family favorites, but be warned, it’s not actually a soup!

Hello, Hole in the Wall
Tin Roof — 360 Papa Place, suite 116, Kahului
You’ll recognize this spot by the crowd of people waiting outside this sweet little spot. I love my Fat Chow Funn with a side of their House Dashi Broth. Order ahead of time online and you can just walk in and grab it off the counter. You’ll get a text when it’s ready.

Yummy Umi
Umi Sushi — 1951 E. Vineyard Street. Wailuku
Known for their creative culinary chops, this spot has outrageously delicious ramen, but also flavorful dishes like Venison Swedish Meatballs and Angel Hair Pasta with Kauai Shrimp.

This spot might feel like an odd locale next to a gas station, but trust me, you’ll be going back again and again for their various noodle dishes including Tan Tan Ramen and Saimin. They also have killer smash burgers.

Kalei’s — Pukalani Terrace Center + Food truck across from Costco
Although they’re known for their plate lunch, when my teenage son is done kiting, his request every single time is for their chow fun. But be warned, it sells out!
