iPod also awarded to Lihikai School second grader

Kahului, Maui, HI (October 9, 2012) – Maui Mall awarded Alexandra Pardico, a junior at Maui High School an iPad as part of its recent Maui Mall Family Sundays event. In addition, Zaylie Tamashiro from Lihikai Elementary School was awarded an iPod Touch.  Both winners were randomly drawn from a selection of nominated students, all who were recognized on-stage for achievements in academics and community.

Pardico holds a 4.1 GPA and has medaled at state and national Health Occupation Students of America competition. According to teacher David Rostetter, Pardico hands in high quality, exemplary work and has incredible academic and leadership potential.

Tamashiro was nominated by her teacher Dayni Shimomura who noted that “her bright smile throughout the day encourages her teacher and classmates, and whenever she is given constructive criticism Zaylie is always willing to improve her work without complaint.”

Teachers are encouraged to promote hard work and dedication by nominating their students for this monthly iPad and iPod drawing, through November. The next Family Sundays and iPad and iPod giveaway event on October 28 will highlight Visual Arts. The deadline to submit nomination forms for this event is October 15.
