St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School is now accepting reservations for their annual “Strength in Unity Gala.” This year’s event will be held on Friday, November 11, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Kamehameha Golf Clubhouse in Waikapu. Funds raised will go toward student tuition assistance.

During the Gala, guests will enjoy Silent and Live Auctions, student artwork, a special performance by the St. Anthony Golden Royals Jazz Orchestra, music by Nevah Too Late, door prizes and a special dinner program.

Lahaina pays tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, known as The Father of Modern China, during the annual Sun Yat-sen Festival at Wo Hing Museum on Front Street from 1 to 7 pm. This year, we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of his birth with a new exhibit, film tributes and displays depicting the life of Sun Yat-sen from Maui to China. Try Chinese martial arts on the museum lawn, or cultural activities like calligraphy and knot tying. Enjoy a presentation in the old Cookhouse on the significance of Dr. Sun’s work and his connection to Maui. Sample traditional Cantonese foods and Chinese teas in the garden. 6th annual Zip 4 The Trees fundraising event on Saturday November 12th, 2016 on Skyline Haleakala, Maui.  Zip 4 The Trees is Skyline’s premier annual conservation and fundraising event that brings the Maui community together to Do Good and Have Fun by helping to preserve and protect Maui’s fragile Eco-System by planting native Hawaiian trees and enjoying a fun day of ziplining, music, food and fun with all proceeds from the event being donated to several Maui charities.  Event entry is $50/pp and includes the Haleakala zipline tour experience or purchase a general admission ticket for $10/pp and enjoy the music and events for the day. All proceeds from the event will be donated to four Maui children’s charities and the Pacific Cancer Foundation.
