LET’S LOVE MAUI- Miss Maui, Blue Zones Project, and Pakaloha Bikinis host Community Beach Cleanup

Come One, Come All, Come PLEASE!

Miss Maui will be partnering with the Blue Zones Project and Pakaloha Bikinis and Swimwear for a beach cleanup located at the Kanaha Beach Park on Saturday, November 11th from 700am till 1200pm. The cleanup, titled “Let’s Love MAUI,” is the sequel to a month-long campaign for “#GetTheDriftandBagIt,” a nonprofit initiative by Malama Maui Nui in the fight against litter and pollution in our beautiful home and oceans.

All volunteers can enjoy complimentary coffee, pastries, refreshments, snacks and lunch and will be entered into our door prize drawing (prizes listed below) to take place following the cleanup. We will also be giving away separate prizes respectively for the volunteers and/or teams with the Heaviest Weight of total trash collected and Largest Piece of Trash collected! Malama Maui Nui will also be lending us gloves, vests, and trash pickers for volunteers to borrow. Closed toed shoes recommended and preferred. Below is a broad timeline of our event for your reference.

Volunteers are encouraged to come in groups of about 5 for maximum collection efficiency, but individual volunteers are equally appreciated! Groups of five (5) people ensure 1 person recording data, 2 people collecting, and 2 people with collection bags (one for trash, and one for recyclables). You may be placed in a group depending on whether you would like to be or not. We will be signing all forms or letters for verification of community service hours and can provide official event notification letters for bookkeeping or administrative approval purposes.

Volunteers are also asked to download the Clean Swell Application on their smart phones for paperless trash data collection. If coming in a group, please make sure the person (or people, if rotating positions) downloads the Clean Swell Application prior to or at time of cleanup. You are free to create your own account of your collecting, or you can sign in with our preregistered account using the login information below.

Come with a friend, come with your class, or come as someone who loves Maui as much as we do! We would love to have you!
