* The Stick Horse Race for all ages starts at 8:30 a.m. and the parade begins at 9. The parade starts on Baldwin Avenue just below Makawao Elementary School and proceeds through Makawao town and ends on Makawao Avenue at the Eddie Tam Park facility.

* Parking for spectators will be available at Oskie Rice Arena with a free shuttle back and forth to Makawao town from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hip-Hop for Families with Mr. Kneel

In celebration of the Statewide Summer Reading Program, Mr. Kneel will share his love for reading through beatbox and rhyme at four Maui libraries this July.

As a professional goofball, hip-hop emcee and beatboxer, “Mr. Kneel” (Neil McIntyre) creates music that inspires and uplifts, promoting learning and positive attitudes.  Come join the fun!

Sponsored by a generous grant from Maui Friends of the Library, this program is suitable for ages 5 and up.  All children must be accompanied by a parent or an adult caregiver.

Incredible Corals: Night at the Reef

Enjoy an evening under the stars at Maui Ocean Center’s iconic summer coral event, Incredible Corals: Night at the Reef. Known as the “Rainforest of the Sea”, Hawaii’s coral reefs are home to a diversity of marine life, some of which are found nowhere else in the world. Explore the Aquarium at night and learn about Hawaii’s marine animals and corals. Based on the lunar cycle, you may have the opportunity to witness live coral spawning in the exhibits!
