Come to the south shore of Maui for Kihei’s 4th Friday Town Party for “Hau’oli Makahiki Hou-Happy New Year”, January 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Azeka Shopping Center Mauka, the “Heart and Soul” of Kihei. Come “Play in Kihei” and enjoy free entertainment, food booths and trucks, art, crafts, and plenty of great local shopping.  Free entertainment by Missy Aguilar, Luna OverDrive and the Jamie Gallo Band-It’s Only Rock n Roll. A special performance by Kalimaya Exergy 35 – Celebrating the Chinese New Year.

Behind-the-Scenes Tour

Go behind-the-scenes with a marine naturalist to explore the Aquarium lab and discover what it takes to care for the marine animals. Learn about corals, sharks, and sea turtles with the exclusive opportunity to feed the marine animals at Turtle Lagoon and Hammerhead Harbor. Maui Ocean Center, The Aquarium of Hawaii offers a weekly story time and craft hour for children ages 3-12 in the Hawaiians and the Sea exhibit. Join a Wet Naturalist at the Tide Pool and/or Discovery Pool for a hands-on presentation about Hawaii’s marine invertebrates! Engage with a marine naturalist presenting from within the exhibit to see, touch, and learn about sea stars, sea cucumbers, urchins and more spineless sea creatures.
