Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) presents two free public performances of Kathy Collins’ charming new musical The Magic of Kamishibai about a young girl who learns a valuable lesson about compassion and respect from her Japanese grandmother. With original music played live, the show has been seen by more than 6,000 Maui students in their schools this year. Appropriate for all ages. FREE!

Baldwin High School’s fifth annual Block Party will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Feb. 2 on the campus front lawn, in the cafeteria, Banyan Courtyard and library. This fun event will feature food booths and trucks, live entertainment, game zone, a craft fair, silent auction, Barnes & Noble book fair, Da Bounce Bouncing Castles and so much more has been added this year since the event has become more popular. All proceeds raised from the block party will benefit Baldwin High School clubs, sports teams, and organizations. Discounted presale scrips are available till 2/1.
