MAUI’S FIRST MAJOR KENDAMA TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD AT QUEEN KAAHUMANU CENTER

Event will take place February 8, hosted by Kaleidoscope

               

Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center today announced Maui’s first major kendama tournament will take place at the center on Saturday, February 8. The event is organized by Dane and Kerry Han, owners of the store Kaleidoscope, which sells a wide variety of the traditional Japanese toy.images

The tournament is open to ages seven and older as contestants compete in different age divisions in an elimination competition to determine the top 2014 Kendama Tournament Players. The family-friendly event will feature more than $500 worth of kendamas in prizes and drawings.

 

Advanced registration is required and space is limited. Register at Kaleidoscope during business hours. There is a $2 registration fee. Participants will check in at 1 pm at center court on event day with tournament action beginning at2pm
