Hau`oli la Hanau na Honu! Happy Birthday, Turtles!
Join the Hawaiian Aquarium tomorrow – Friday, June 29 – as they celebrate the birthdays of the 1-year-old and 2-year-old juvenile green sea turtles!
Sing “happy birthday” to the honu and talk story with the aquarists and volunteers who have helped care for these beloved ocean-dwellers since they were just tiny hatchlings. The turtles will be presented with a delicious protein-packed spirulina gel cake. Don’t worry, there will be cake for you, too! Guests will be treated to yummy chocolate and vanilla birthday cake while supplies last.
Discover the meaning behind the turtles’ Hawaiian names, learn about their different personalities as observed by the aquarist team, and track their growth to see how much they’ve grown since their first day at the Aquarium. It’s all happening at the Turtle Lagoon, following Hangin’ with Honu on Friday, June 29.
