We are often bombarded by media messages that encourage us to buy expensive face creams and washes, so that we will look younger. If you are wondering how to get glowing skin for the New Year, but don’t want to spend hundreds on manufactured products, there’s good news: with a few natural ingredients and a little bit of time, beautiful, healthy skin may be yours!

Homemade Face Scrub

Supplies: Sugar or Salt, Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil, Kiwi or Cucumber, Muddler, Airtight Container.

Directions: Choose your container, and measure your exfoliant so that the container is 3/4 full. Measure out your oil. You’ll want a 2-to-1 ratio (salt or sugar to oil). Combine oil and salt or sugar in a bowl, and stir until just combined. Add in the kiwi or cucumber, chopped finely, and muddle the mixture together until combined. Put into your storage container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Clarifying Face Mask

Supplies: Egg White.

Directions: Wash face with warm water. Then break the egg, separating the white from the yolk with the shell. Apply the egg white to your face, ensuring you don’t get any in your eyes or mouth. Allow the egg white to dry for at least 15 minutes. Use warm water to gently wash the mask off.

Natural Skin Toner

Supplies: 1/2 ounce Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, 3 ounces Distilled Water.

Directions: Dilute 1/2 ounce organic apple cider vinegar with 3 ounces water. Apply toner to your face using a cotton ball. The solution will stay fresh for one month in the refrigerator.

Skin Moisturizer

Supplies: Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil, Small Airtight Container.

Directions: Keep coconut oil in small, airtight container. Apply to face daily after washing, and before applying makeup. This moisturizer provides a small amount of sun protection.
