New Virtual Classrooms
In response to a growing need for distance learning, Maui Huliau Foundation and our program partners have launched two distance learning classrooms to support grade 8-12 teachers and students in the upcoming school year. Programs focusing on climate literacy and local ecosystems begin on August 10th. More information and registration can be found here on our website.

Fall Filmmaking Program
Our fall filmmaking program will be a hybrid of virtual meetings and in-person filming, and will focus on helping students in grades 7-12 create virtual field trips with partner organizations. The program will begin with virtual classes August 17th, 19th and 24th from 4-5:30pm, followed by virtual planning meetings and an on-site filming day with a limit of three students per film team. Apply by August 12th.

Youth Leadership Council
The Huliau Leadership Council is open to students in grades 9-12 from all Maui County schools who have an interest in environmental leadership. The program begins September 2nd with monthly virtual meetings from 4:30-6pm to plan environmental service and leadership projects. This year, one project will be a film series featuring youth perspectives on sustainability in a post-COVID world. Apply here by August 24th.
