East Maui Watershed Partnership (EMWP) invites artists of all ages to participate in Maui’s only native species art exhibition. Learn alongside your children while helping to raise community awareness about the beauty and importance of our native ecosystems through art.The Exhibition, Mālama Wao Akua (caring for the realm of the gods), was created to highlight Maui’s unique native plants and animals and the people who work to protect them. Join us this year for our exciting first show at our new venue, Hui Noʻeau. Subject matter must be a species or landscape native to Maui Nui. Hikes into the native forest for artists or classroom presentations for school groups are available for inspiration. Submit your entry at Hui Noʻeau Visual Arts Center, August 24th, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For more information, including entry fees and tips for parents and teachers, visit mwa-art.org or contact EMWP at 573-6999.
