The Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of Maui and Ho‘oikaika Partnership invite you to attend a special kick-off event for Child Abuse Prevention Month: the Mayor’s Proclamation Signing.

Mayor Alan Arakawa will talk about child abuse prevention efforts in Maui County, sign a proclamation declaring the month of April as “Child Abuse Prevention Month” throughout the County, and read a story to the children in attendance.
Paul Tonnessen, Executive Director of the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of Maui and Jeny Bissell, Core Partner with Ho‘oikaika Partnership, will talk briefly about strengthening families and preventing child abuse through the protective factors.
The program will end with a concert by Uncle Wayne and the Howling Dog Band.
The event is open to the public and is a great opportunity to honor all those who work to protect Maui County children from maltreatment and to be inspired to continue this work with even greater commitment and knowledge!
