Sand Castles are fun for the family. They take a lot of wet sand and a plastic knife. 1. Make a base by leveling an area in the sand and completely wetting it with buckets of water. 2. Pile sand up a couple of feet to make a foundation for the castle and pour more water on it to solidify it all. 3. Make a large central tower by creating pancake layers a few inches thick with each pancake layer smaller than the one below so that it tappers. 4. Smooth and detail the central tower with your hands and knife. 5. Create smaller towers around the central tower and connect these together with walls. Walls are made by stacking handfuls of wet sand on top of one another with  the bases thicker than the tops. 6. Create arches in the walls by tunneling through and gently carving away sand. 7. Make ramps and stairways just like the walls.
