County of Maui Department of Fire & Public Safety Ocean Safety Bureau 2019 Junior Lifeguard Program
The Junior Lifeguard program was designed to train boys and girls ages 12 to 17 in lifesaving water skills and to develop an awareness of beach hazards and ocean conditions. It includes an introduction to CPR, First Aid and rescue board techniques with an emphasis on ocean swimming, paddle boarding, and lifesaving skills. Participants will become familiar with First Aid and CPR techniques while improving their health and fitness. 15 Participants max per session. 35 Participants max in Hana. Students who are not a 2018 returnee or part of a swim team must perform and pass a swim assessment of 300 yards non-stop within 11 minutes.

West District- Hanakao’o Beach Park
East District- Hana

Session III: June 24–28
Session IV: July 1-5
Session V: July 8-12
Hana Session: June 3-7. Times: 9:00am–3:30pm
