Parks & Recreation Department’s Bike Safety Program

What is a Bike Safety Program? Your child will have the opportunity to participate in an event that will offer them a chance to learn and practice safe bicycling skills.

Safety Video: a short video that demonstrates tips on safe bicycling will be shown. This part of the program will be open to all keiki.

Bike Challenge Course: after the video and if you meet the height requirements, participants will be fitted for a bike and will be able to practice starting and stopping, exiting a driveway, looking for traffic, negotiating an intersection, and avoiding common road hazards. For safety reasons, this part of the program will only be open to keiki that meet the height requirement of 48”. Bicycles and helmets will be provided. In addition to meeting the height requirement, keiki participating in the bike challenge must be able to ride a bike.

Grand Prize: drawing at 3:15pm; must be present to win.

Session Times: 12noon, 1pm and 2pm. Must register prior to the times listed.
