The Maui County District Health Office and the County of Maui will be holding a community meeting regarding imported cases of mosquito-borne illness suspected to be the Zika virus.

Tuesday, April 5, at the Velma McWayne Santos (Wailuku) Community Center

Location: 395 Waena Place, Wailuku

Doors open at 5:45 p.m.; the meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m.

“Because Maui now has a new threat of mosquito-borne illness through imported suspect cases, we are reaching out to the community to provide an update on the current situation and potential impacts,” said Dr. Lorrin Pang, Maui County District Health Officer. “We will definitely need everyone’s help in combating the viruses that are being imported to our island from other parts of the world where they are causing serious health problems.”
