Maui Federal Credit Union today announced the launch of a youth share account program to encourage financial awareness among kids and teens. Youth who signup starting today can enjoy free ice cream on Friday, July 19 at the Kahului main branch at 107 E. Wakea Ave.

To celebrate National Ice Cream Day and to beat the summer heat, youth can enjoy ice cream while supplies last by signing up for a Sprout share account for children under 13 years old, or an ithrive share account for teens 13 to 17 years old. 

Each member will receive a free gift upon signing up as a preview of the many rewards they will receive at every milestone in their savings journey. They will get a membership card and can claim a gift for their birthday, plus a dollar for every A grade they receive in school. Those with straight A’s will also be eligible for a $25 drawing every quarter.

Maui FCU’s membership fee of $1 and minimum deposit of $25 are waived for Sprout members 6 months and below. All youth accounts must be co-owned by a parent or legal guardian.
