Ocean Camp offers fun, adventure and learning for children entering or currently enrolled in grades 2-5. Campers learn about the ocean and Maui’s natural environment while developing new skills and making new friends. Each session centers around a unique ocean-related theme, and includes hands-on science lessons, team-building games, expressive crafts and daily field trips with local partners including two weekly 3-hour private snorkel trips on PacWhale Eco-Adventures vessels.

From the raging seas of the Pacific Ocean to the majestic streams of ‘Īao Valley and Kula’s lush rainforest, everything around us is interconnected. Students will examine how cycles in nature keep Earth in balance. Investigate why rainwater is important to the millipede, and why the millipede is important to the soil. Students gain an in-depth understanding of how individual and personal choices have ripple effects throughout the island

Are you ready to delve into the wonderful world of ecology?! This week, we will take a close look at the living organisms of ‘Īao Valley and examine how they interact with the environment around them. We will step in the shoes of a scientist and conduct experiments that help us expand our knowledge of the amazing planet we call home. Join us for a fun-packed week at the Hawaiʻi Nature Center of hiking, learning, crafting, and exploring!
