Maui Ola Lā ʻOhana

Hui No Ke Ola Pono, Papa Ola Lōkahi, and many others will be hosting a day of relaxation and restoration this Saturday. Maui residents, especially those from West Maui, Kula, and other areas impacted by the hurricane winds and fires, are invited to enjoy a day with family and friends to ho‘omaha, relax, ho‘ōla, rejuvenate, and ho‘oku‘u, release. Lili‘uokalani Trust and others will provide keiki activities. Prenatal education will be offered by the birth workers at Kalauokekahuli. There will be food and Maui musical artists. Kūpuna, mental health providers, and cultural practitioners will be on hand to talk story. Practitioners will be offering lomilomi throughout the day. The non-profit Lo‘iloa will oversee the pounding of taro, but attendees who have their own boards and stones to ku‘i kalo are encouraged to bring them. More than 100 pounds of poi and kalopa‘a will be distributed. Bring your ʻohana, mats, beach chairs, and towels!

Gathering of the Voyagers

Bring the community together to learn from cultural practitioners, support local artists, vendors, and non-profit organizations, enjoy two days of a Tahitian Dance Competition, enjoy live Hawaiian music, canoe paddling, and take part in traditional Hawaiian ceremonies. This is a free community with support provided by the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority through the Community Enrichment Program.

Aloha Friday at Queen Ka’ahumanu Center

The Festivals of Aloha kicks off today at Queen Ka‘ahumanu Shopping Center from 5-8 pm. Enjoy an evening of Hawaiian cultural exhibits, hands-on activities, Hawaiian music, and hula! There are events island-wide, including in Hāna next weekend with a parade, festival, and sports night.
