Celebrate Japanese Culture

The Maui Matsuri Festival is back kicking off their festivities this Monday, November 15th with Trivia Night with the help of Mystery Maui Escape Room. If you are a Japan culture whiz, this game is for you with 40 questions about Japan with prizes for the top winners. The fun is followed by International Culture Night on Friday, November 19th from 6-9pm amd Maui Matsuri Festival on Saturday, November 20th at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Shopping Center. Watch a Film Under the Stars

The 2021 Maui Film Festival Stardust Cinema starts this Wednesday, Nov 17th through November 21 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center A&B Ampitheater. Films will be projected on a larger-than-life 30’x20’ screen with 13 film premieres including Waterman, a documentary about five-time Olympic medalist and Native Hawaiian Duke Paoa Kahanamoku, Broken Molds which features the top watermen in the world (many from Maui!), and a celebration of friendship between the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu in Mission: Joy. Decorate Cookies

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui will be celebrating the holidays with a Cookie Decorating Contest. Cookie Kits cost $22 and include 4 gingerbread cookies, 4 assorted sprinkles, and 3 icing colors. There will be prizes for the best decorated cookie. Cookie contest entries (picture of cookie) due December 8th. Winners announced virtually on December 11th.
