Skate at Kalama Park
For the first time since the pandemic closed the park in March 2020, public skate at the Kalama Park rink reopens this Saturday, July 10th! There will be two skate sessions on Saturday only: 2:00PM-4:00PM & 4:30PM-6:30PM. Only 75 skaters will be allowed on the rink at a time, so it will be first come first served, per session. There will be a 30 minute break between sessions to sanitize the rental skates and spectator area. The County of Maui is requiring that all skaters wear face coverings. Rental skate fees are now $10 per session. Meet up with friends, watch the sunset, and skate the night away!
Get Your Car Washed for a Good Cause
Theatre Theatre Maui is pleased to announce the resurgence of its annual car wash and bake sale! In partnership with Visitor Industry’s Charity Walk, the annual car wash and bake sale supports TTM’s commitment to providing free and low-cost programming to the West Side keiki. The car wash will take place at Lahaina Intermediate School, 871 Lahainaluna Rd, on Saturday, July 10th from 8a-1p. Space is limited so supporters are encouraged to purchase their car wash tickets in advance. Patrons can purchase tickets through TTM campers they know for $8, or online, by visiting TTMWestMaui.org.
Stroll through an exhibit
The Schaefer International Gallery reopened on Wednesday, July 7 with a new exhibit, Abstractionx3. Three artists from Hawai‘i individually address issues informing abstraction in the 21st century including Debra Drexler, Don Bernshouse, and Tom Lieber. For each, the pursuit of abstraction has become something highly personal, a chance to let their perceptions of the surrounding world and the complexities of human experience matriculate into the visual. Visitors will have the chance to navigate three very distinct takes on abstraction, each their own window into the artist’s reality. New Gallery Hours: Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission is free.
