Aloha Friday! For this week’s Weekend Guide we celebrate all the ocean has to offer.

Go Whale Watching

If you haven’t spotted a whale yet this season, book a whale watch or post up on the shore and you’re bound to see them. You may have gone on a tour before, but it never gets old watching them play, breach, and wave hello with their fins. Photo courtesy of Pacific Whale Foundation.

Watch Some Epic Surf

This shot from Daniel Sullivan at Peahi may clue you in on how big the surf is right now. The huge swell may keep you and your littles out of the water, but there’s no reason to not check out the pros! Spread a blanket at Ho’okipa Beach Park or your favorite break for the sounds of the pounding waves and cheer them on.

Book a Reservation at the Maui Ocean Center

The Maui Ocean Center is now welcoming general admission reservations starting this Monday, January 18th. They have taken great lengths to keep guests safe with limited time slots and regular sanitation, so plan accordingly. Some details about their reopening can be found here. Tickets will not be sold at the door, so reserve online at mauioceancenter.com.

Go for a Walk on the Coast

Enjoy the view from the south on the Wailea Coastal Trail. Perfect for long stroller walks or a morning run, enter at Polo or Wailea Beach Park and enjoy it while the crowds are minimal right now.

Have a great weekend!
