It’s Super Bowl Weekend and although it’s different this year with more reason than ever to avoid gatherings and parties, you can still enjoy the event at home with your family. Make game day food together or support a local restaurant with pizza and wings takeout. To get pumped for the game, throw the ball around in the yard and run some plays. Don your team’s jersey, root for the veteran Tom Brady or the new kid on the block Patrick Mahomes, laugh at the commercials, and dance during the halftime show. Whether you even enjoy football or not, the Super Bowl is a chance to create fun memories with your family. Sunday, February 7, 2021. Kick off starts at 1:30pm HST.
Make Art out of Trash
“E mahalo kakou i ka mea loa’a.” – Let us be thankful for what we have.
Mālama Maui Nui has put out their call for submissions to their annual Art of Trash virtual art show. They invite you to be inspired and consider your perspective and practices regarding “waste” through this exploration of creative material transformation. The Art of Trash is a juried exhibition and selected works will be displayed virtually in April. Two categories include the Trashion Show with wearable pieces and the Art Gallery. Selected Trashion art pieces will be professionally filmed on a runway for the virtual exhibition. For inspiration, view last year’s submissions here. The submission fee is $15 and all proceeds will benefit Mālama Maui Nui. Submissions will be accepted until March 1. MalamaMauiNui.org/ArtOfTrash
Send Love through the Mail
Next weekend is Valentine’s Day and it’s a great time to think about how you can express your love to those near and far.
