Roots School’s Children’s Fair

Fly away to Neverland for Peter Pan-themed fun including games, crafts, food, the “Pirate’s Booty” cake walk, “Wendy’s Nursery” used book sale, balloon twisting, face painting, and more family fun. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased online or with Venmo. Tickets will also be available at the door. All proceeds benefit the Tuition Aid Program for families with financial need.

Observe & Play Family Day

Families are invited to visit the gallery, meet exhibiting artists, and participate in activities and maker stations that expand on the themes of community in the exhibit. These will include old-fashioned plantation games, a family photo op with frame decorating, a large-scale interactive puzzle map of Maui, stamp stations throughout the gallery, and more!

Maui Chinese New Year Festival

Celebrate the Year of the Dragon and enjoy the Maui Chinese New Year Festival with a wide array of family-friendly cultural experiences, including food and craft booths, demonstrations, displays, and music. Highlights of the festival will include a lion dance blessing by Sifu Arlie Asiu and Maui Chinese Martial Arts, keiki dragon dancers and ribbon dancers by Kalimaya and Exergy 35 Edutainment Productions, and tai chi demonstrations by Taiji on Maui, Ohana Martial Arts, and T’ai Chi Ch’uan on Maui. 

Keiki are invited to come in costume to participate in the Keiki Chinese Costume Show, and the first 100 keiki will receive free goodie bags. There will also be a Keiki Art Contest, Chinese calligraphy, a Chinese altar table, and more. You can also take a trip down memory lane at the Maui Chinese Photo and Culture Exhibit.
