Aloha Friday! It’s the weekend and we want to spend it outside.

1. Enjoy the view

Spectacular views await you at the Waihe’e Ridge Trail. Don’t let that first brutal incline scare you away from this 2.5-mile hike. The reward is too great. Make sure to bring plenty of water, wear good shoes, and slather on the sunblock. Kahekili Hwy, Wailuku

2. Brush up on your bike skills

Throw the kids, their bikes, and their helmets in your car and head to the bike skills area in the Kahakapao Trails of the Makawao Forest Reserve. They will have a blast attempting the ramps and exploring the forest on their bike. Great for all ages! 275 Kahakapao Rd, Makawao

3. Find a secret beach

With over 30 miles of beaches in Maui, there’s surely one you have never been to that’s worth visiting. Take a risk and you may discover a new favorite spot closer than you realize.

4. Hang with the honu

Spend the day at the beach and if you’re lucky you’ll score a honu happy hour when scores of them come to bask on the beach.

5. Explore heritage gardens

After meandering through the displays and structures that honor all the cultures that make up modern Hawaii at Kepaniwai Park and Heritage Gardens, take a dip in the cool Wailuku River or a hike through the forest. Make sure to bring a cooler and food for lunch at the picnic tables. 870 Iao Valley Rd, Wailuku.

Have a great weekend!
