Guava trees are ripening right now, and it’s the perfect time to make Guava Jam!
Ingredients used to make Guava Jam
- 20 ripe soft guavas. It is important that the guavas are ripe and soft. That gives a nice flavor and sweetness to the jam.
- 3 cups of Sugar
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- Water as needed
Cut the guava into small pieces with the pulp and skin. Place in a blender to puree. Add enough water to help the mixture liquefy.
Boil it for 10 – 15 minutes.
Strain it through a strainer to extract all the juice and pulp from cooked guavas, discard the skin and pulp left behind.
Add lemon juice and the 3 cups of sugar to extracted pulp juice mixture and mix it in.
Cook on high and bring it to a rolling boil. Stir constantly to avoid burning.
Lower to medium heat. Continue to cook and stir occasionally for about 30 minutes.
