Maui Mall Family Sundays
Maui Mall celebrates student achievement and education at a new monthly event, Maui Mall Family Sundays, and awards lucky student winners with an iPad or iPod at each event. The free monthly event (see dates below) includes educational-themed hands-on workshops, activities, exhibits, entertainment and games, free Bingo, and prize giveaways. Each month follows a specific educational theme such as Science & Agriculture, Language & Culture or Nutrition, Health & Safety. A finale event in January will feature a grand prize MacBook Pro.
Maui Mall is encouraging all Maui County teachers to nominate one student per month who stands out in academics and character to be recognized and rewarded at each Maui Mall Family Sundays event. Held on every last Sunday of the month (except December), select students will be presented with Maui Mall gift certificates as well as be entered to win an iPod or iPad. Additionally, students who are chosen from April through November will be re-entered in a cumulative drawing for a chance to win a MacBook Pro at the Maui Mall Family Sundays finale event on January 6, 2013.
Teachers are urged to nominate one student per event who has demonstrated strengths and achievements such as: 1) Student progress and proficiency or grade point average; 2) HSA or Terra Nova test scores, if any; 3) Academic work; 4) Awards garnered; 5) Potential for success; 6) Contributions to his/her class, peers and/or community.
