Maui Mall Family Sundays

This weekend’s Maui Mall Family Sundays event is a celebration of Language & Culture. A number of school and community organizations will showcase different nationalities through performing arts, hands-on activities, giveaways, demonstrations and educational displays. Free healthy ethnic snacks and temporary tribal tattoos will be provided for the keiki. Books and gifts will also be for sale.

Maui Mall will also award one iPad and iPod, courtesy of Maui Mall, Whole Foods Market and Fun Factory, for the student drawing. Maui teachers are encouraged to nominate outstanding students to be recognized onstage and for this monthly iPad and iPod drawing, through November.

90th Maui Fair

The most anticipated event on Maui comes alive each year for four fun-filled days:

Thursday, September 27: 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm (Annual Parade starting 4:30 pm along Kaahumanu Avenue)

Friday, September 28: 5:00 pm – midnight

Saturday, September 29: 10:00 am – midnight

Sunday, September 30: 10:00 am – 11:00 pm

This year, the traditional parade, which is also Maui’s largest, opens the Fair on Thursday, September 27 with rides, food, first-rate entertainment which will continue through the evening of Sunday, September 30, 2012.

With an annual attendance of approximately 100,000 the Maui Fair is an icon of family tradition. It attracts both locals and visitors alike to enjoy an alcohol-free, smoke-free and drug-free family oriented educational event that features multi-cultural food, first-rate entertainment, E.K. Fernandez Fun Zone, plus horticulture, Bonsai, livestock, homemaking, photo and art exhibits and competitions.

With its beginnings in 1916 the Fair has become “A Timeless Tradition” embraced by businesses as well as individuals who as a community help perpetuate this valuable community event.

Alii Kula Lavender – Ladies Day Out and Families Day Out

 

Ladies Day Out: Friday, September 28, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Book our “Ladies Day Out” package that includes a guided walking tour, aromatic lavender tea and delicious lavender scone. The rate is $10 per person plus tax. “Re-Unite!” — The Gala Opening Performance of Seabury Hall’s New A`ali`ikuhonua Creative Arts Center

After a four year process, Seabury Hall inaugurates its new home for the arts, A`ali`ikuhonua Creative Arts Center. “Re-Unite” is an evening of music, dance, drama, and art by honored alumni to celebrate the opening of this glorious new state-of-the-art building. The lineup of performers reaches back from internationally acclaimed opera singer Kimball Wheeler, class of ’68, to Rachel E. Berman ’07, who is currently cast in the world premiere musical, “The House of Finnegan,” playing at the El Portal Theatre in Hollywood.
