Hawaii State Public Library System – Kihei Library
Maui Science Center welcomes engineers ages 7 to 107 to a special family, hands-on event. Participants and their families will build flying sculptures and sail-cars using common recycled materials, then test their creations at the Launch Lab (specially designed Wind tubes and Wind tracks).
Have fun while learning — explore the science of aerodynamics, practice creative engineering and exercise problem solving! All materials provided; however, donated recycled materials such as paper towel rolls, unused pipe cleaners, paper cups, aluminum foil, etc. are welcome.

Go behind-the-scenes with a marine naturalist to explore the Aquarium lab and discover what it takes to care for the marine animals at Maui Ocean Center. Learn about sharks and turtles and enjoy the unique opportunity to feed the marine life at Turtle Lagoon and Hammerhead Harbor. Wet Naturalist
Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

See, touch, and learn about Hawaii’s marine invertebrates with a marine naturalist! Encounter Hawaii’s tide pool critters during a fun, interactive presentation. A marine naturalist will conduct the presentation from within the Discovery Pool or Tide Pool exhibit with sea cucumbers, sea stars, urchins, and other critters. Included with Aquarium admission.
Exploration Station
Thursdays and Sundays

Featuring a monthly, rotating- themed Exploration Station at Maui Ocean Center’s Living Reef! Speak with a marine naturalist and learn about turtles in August, marine debris in September, and marine invertebrates in October. Station features include interactive displays, microscopes, and small live animals depending on the theme. Included with Aquarium admission.
