Annual Pumpkin Patch Season at Kula Country Farms

Kula Country Farms is hosting its annual Pumpkin Patch Season! You and your children can explore the patch, view many exciting pumpkins and gourds in all shapes and sizes, and even carve your own pumpkin!

Families are invited to enjoy the Pumpkin Patch beginning in October. Special events include a scarecrow contest, pie-eating contest, and the famous walk-through corn maze. The farm will also feature Halloween crafts, farm animals, edible goodies, pumpkin carving supplies, and the farmer’s market, which includes a variety of locally grown produce, plants, and flowers.

7th Annual Maui Children and Youth Day

The Kihei Youth Center presents its 7th Annual South Maui Children and Youth Day to celebrate families and their keiki, aged preschool-middle school, in a free, fun, family event at Kenolio Recreational Center in Kihei. Bring your family and keiki on October 12th from 3:00p.m.-8:00p.m. for an exciting and entertaining afternoon!

The SMCYD festival features interactive, educational, and fun activities for children and parents, along with family-style entertainment and food booths that benefit South Maui Youth activities and clubs.

From crafts, activities, and demonstrations to giveaways and more, this free event is filled with fun for the whole family. Keiki who complete the treasure hunt, visiting nonprofit organization booths complete with activities to engage and educate, may even win a prize! with friends and family as you enjoy island music by acclaimed ‘ukulele musicians!
Roy Sakuma, Oahu’s renowned ‘ukulele teacher who started the first and original ukulele festival in 1971,
will serve as M.C. to help us celebrate Hawai’i’s beloved instrument.
Line-up includes: Ohta-san & Nando Suan, Richard Ho’opi’i, Willie K, Paula Fuga,

Saturday, October 12 in McCoy Studio Theater, 10:00 am
This workshop is conducted by Roy and Kathy Sakuma for students of all ages, from child to adult.
They will teach songs written by Roy Sakuma and there will be a drawing to win a Kala ‘ukulele!
Lessons are designed for beginning and intermediate players: the only requirement is that a student can hold C, F and G7 chords. Attendees will be invited to participate in Sunday’s ‘Ukulele Festival, playing one of the songs learned in the workshop.
Students should bring their own ‘ukulele, notepaper and a pencil. Pre-registration is not required.
