Easter Bunny will be arriving on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 10:00am at Queen Ka’ahumanu Center.

Along with Easter Bunny arrival fanfare will be an age specific keiki egg hunt and coloring contest with special prizes, Easter Egg crafts from 10:00am to 12:00pm. DJ Koindrop will spin fun spring tunes and give away Easter Bunny ears and balloons. Just bring your Easter basket.

Professional photographs with Easter Bunny will be available from Saturday, April 1 through Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 10:00am to 9:00pm, Sundays from 10:00am to 5:00pm. In addition, Pet Photos with Easter Bunny will be scheduled on Mondays, April 3 and 10 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Compassionate Easter Bunny will be available for visits and photos from 10:00am to 12:00pm or by appointment on Tuesday, April 4 and 11.

100 Kids Who Care

Our next meeting will be on Saturday, April 1st from 11 a.m. to Noon at the Pacific Whale Foundation’s ocean side classroom. Registration and Check-in starts at 10:30 a.m. If you have kids who will have a hard time waiting for the meeting to start, feel free to check in closer to 10:45 a.m.
100 Kids Who Care Maui is a philanthropy club.  How does it work?

  • Each child brings $10 to the meeting to donate to charity.
  • 100% of their donation is given to charity.
  • 100 Kids members will nominate a charity of their choice when they register to become a member.
  • Three charities will be randomly selected a week prior to the meeting to participate. A representative of the charity and the child who nominated it will present the charity at the meeting.
  • After the presentations, members will vote for a charity they want to donate to.
  • Majority rule – the charity with the most votes will receive the group’s collective donations.
  • Anyone between the ages of 5-17 are welcome to become members.

KING KEKAULIKE HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ CLINIC AND CONCERT WITH DR. DANIEL HENDERSON

Dr. Daniel Henderson will conduct a jazz improvisation clinic on April 2nd at King Kekaulike High School, and perform in concert with students on April 4th at Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Admission to both events is free.

The educational component is supported by Jazz Maui through a grant from World Music Ventures. It is the mission of Jazz Maui to assist schools to create opportunities for their thriving musicians to learn and play with guest musicians and performers from around the world.

Dr. Daniel Henderson joined the music faculty of BYU-Hawaii in 2016. Prior to moving to the islands, he taught for four years at Harvard University, offering courses in Jazz Improvisation, Jazz Harmony, and Composition. Daniel is a jazz trumpeter, vocalist, and composer with a reputation for innovative and skillful teaching.

While he has performed hundreds of times for humans around the world, he is perhaps most famous for his starring role in the viral video “Jazz for Cows,” which has been featured on Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, and television stations around the world. He holds a bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance from BYU, and master’s and doctoral degrees in jazz composition with academic honors from New England Conservatory. Besides music, Dr. Henderson loves bird watching, religious studies, and exploring world cuisine.
