Easter Celebration at Maui Mall

Maui Mall is “egg-cited” to hold its Easter celebration on Saturday, March 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Score Easter treats from shops throughout the mall, then enjoy keiki fun from 11am – 2pm. Free. Families are invited to enjoy:
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Keiki Activity Stations. Fun with coloring, crafts and games. Pick up an Easter Celebration Passport and get it stamped at each station for a chance to win prizes.- 11:15 a.m.: Dance with life-sized Maui Cartoon Characters Elmo, Hello Kitty and Raphael, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, and special guest – the Easter Bunny! This dramedy tells the story of a group of high school students who are locked down in their library during an emergency. They learn to rise above the social chaos and work together to save a life.
A must-see for parents and teenagers, Lockdown by Julia Edwards is a chillingly relevant play for our youth today as they navigate a world that can feel dangerous at times. Threats of violence and school shootings have created an atmosphere that makes what used to be a safe haven into a place of potential danger. What effect does this have on our children? How does it impact the parents who are sending their children to school everyday?

“Waking Up” presented by Art with Heart at Seabury Hall

Art with Heart, the student-run philanthropic arts club of Seabury Hall, presents their fourth benefit showcase of student produced fine and performing arts on Saturday, March 30th. Held in the new state-of-the-art `A`ali`ikūhonua Creative Arts Center, the evening will consist of a gallery and silent auction of fine art starting at 5:30 pm accompanied by delicious food, refreshments and live music, followed by a live performance of music, acting, dance, and poetry readings at 7 pm. All proceeds from the show will support Art with Heart’s goals to promote the arts and education here on Maui and abroad.
This year the club will support an elementary school in Nicaragua where Seabury Hall volunteers worked this past February through the organization Outreach 360. Locally, the club brings art projects to the children at the Ke Hale A Ke Ola homeless shelter and to the special needs adolescents in the Best Buddies Program. The club currently has $4928.32 and is hoping to double this amount to reach their goal of $10,000 by the end of the year. Strawberry U-Pick Patch at Kula Country Farms

Do you know that there’s a farm on Maui where you can “pick your own strawberries?” Can’t get any fresher than that!
Kula Country Farms will officially open their Strawberry U-pick in March and everyone is invited to come and pick their own strawberries. There will be a plant sale all through March with starters for your garden and lots of strawberry plants for purchase.
The farm stand will be decorated with giant sunflowers (they have lots of honey they want to sell). The focus will be “Bees and what they do” in the Children’s Garden. The Food Trailer will sell Strawberry Shortcake and other strawberry desserts.
